Any of the duplication methods will result in a high quality digital image. The Digital Photo Duplication method is a excellent low cost option to digitize your slides. It captures the full range of tones from Kodachrome and other slides. See the image comparison of the slide duplication methods. Scanning at the highest resolution will give the most detailed image (and largest file size), but for most people this is more than you need. See the notes below to see what will best fit your digital needs. All scanned or duplicated files can be made into a DVD Slideshow Movie.

35mm Slide Digital Photo Duplication Quality low cost way to get your slides digital. Great for DVD movies or viewing on your computer. Suitable for prints up to 5x7" or greater depending on the quality of the slide. Includes Web Browser photo gallery and high resolution jpgs. $0.24 per frame,

35mm Slides or Negatives Scan Scanned at 1600 pixels per inch (ppi). A good all around resolution for prints (up to approximately 8x10 inches @ 200 dpi) or on-screen viewing. This resolution usually meets most peoples needs. Cropped and image corrected. $0.75 per frame
35mm Slides or Negatives Scan Scanned at 3200 ppi and saved in TIFF format. A high resolution scan for zooming in on the photo or for large prints up to approximately 14x21 inches (@ 200 dpi). Manually cropped, dust and scratch removal and color corrected. $1.25 per frame

Remove slides from carousels or holders. Remove photos from albums or frames unless you want the items to be duplicated as is (Digital Photo Duplication). Put the slides in stacks held by rubberbands and put into a large envelope or  ziplock bags. Original boxes or photo envelopes are fine too. To keep your slides and photos from being damaged during shipment, they are best shipped in a box with packing material, rather than an envelope.

If you want your items to be viewed in a specific order on a DVD Movie, you will need to put your items in the order you want to watch them and mark in number order on the backs or on the slide holders lightly in pencil or use Post-It type notes.
